Vehicle exhaust fumes seriously affect firefighters’ health
Vehicle exhaust fumes, found in every fire station, is produced when an diesel engine burns diesel fuel. It is a complex mixture of thousands of gases and particles (soot) containing several toxic air contaminants. These include many known or suspected carcinogenic substances. It also contains other harmful pollutants, including nitrogen oxides. In the long term, repeated exposure is as dangerous as being subject to cigarette smoke. The fumes spreads into the areas where firemen eat, sleep and reside. It penetrates the clothes. No wonder cancer rates among firemen are exceptionally high.
The only really effective method to remove the vehicle fumes is by exhaust extraction directly from the tail pipe! Nederman’s vehicle exhaust extraction systems are designed specifically for emergency vehicles. The exhaust fumes are removed right from the tail pipe, which is the only effective way of doing it.

PTS - Pneumatic Track System for vehicle exhaust extraction |
|
The PTS is a diesel exhaust extraction Track System with Pneumatic Nozzle
- 1 vehicle per system
- Low level tail exhaust pipes
- Up to 15 mph exit speed
The Pneumatic Track System is suitable for stations where vehicles vary from time to time. The system is based on a nozzle expanded by compressed air, fixing and sealing the nozzle tightly round the tail pipe. PTS is supplied with a choice of two different sized nozzles to fit the most common types of tail pipes. A quick coupler makes it easy to interchange the nozzles

PRS - Pneumatic Rail System for vehicle exhaust extraction |

|
Diesel Exhaust Extraction Rail System with Pneumatic Nozzle
- Capacity up to four emergency vehicles per system
- Up to15 mph exit speed
Pneumatic Rail System – PRS, is a fully automatic, high capacity diesel fumes exhaust extraction system for up to 4 emergency vehicles per bay. The system is based on a nozzle expanded by compressed air, fixing and sealing the nozzle tightly around the tail pipe. PRS is supplied with a choice of different sized nozzles to fit the most common types of tail pipes. A quick coupler makes it easy to interchange the nozzles.

MagnaStack - vertical exhaust extraction for vehicle exhaust extraction |
|
Vertical Exhaust Extraction System for Fire vehicles
- 1 vehicle per system
- Up to 10 mph exit speed
- Vertical stacks
Nederman MagnaStack is a fully automatic vehicle diesel fume extraction system, based on the same technique as MagnaTrack. The extraction unit, however, is a hood enclosure. This connects automatically with the vertical exhaust stack as the vehicle is backed in to the parking bay. An electro-magnet attaches the stack to the hood, and instantly releases the stack at the doorway as the vehicle exits.
|
Vertical Stack System for vehicle exhaust extraction |
|
Vertical diesel fume removal System for Emergency Vehicles
- 1 vehicle per system
- Up to 5 mph exit speed
- For back in or drive through vehicles
Vertical Stack is a fully automatic vehicle diesel removal system for vehicles with top diesel exhaust pipes. The vehicle either drives backwards into the parking bay or drives through. The extraction unit is designed as a rail with a scoop in one or both ends. The scoop guides a stack adaptor, mounted on the exhaust pipe, into the rail. The sliding suspension provides automatic sideway positioning of the rail.
